It's very peaceful along these miles of trails. Not many folks ever explore them. Most that ride bikes around here go for the road bikes and risk their lives on the busy highways. One bicyclist was run over and killed last week. I don't get why they find all that noise, traffic and danger worth the afford? Others who mountain bike and hike all head for the Rocky's to carve out what little is left to enjoy for a peaceful spot up there anymore. This trail system so far has been very enjoyable and a easy access get away for me. It's really full of natures supersizes. Still the hectic world is all around and some places are very quiet and others are noisy as hell, like passing under this tollway with a constant roar of traffic. These trails have done a great deal to preserve a sanctuary for the wildlife of the front range plains area as these cave swallows have found highway overpasses very useful for their nesting environment.
. I saw this odd looking bird a couple weeks ago. Had no idea what it was either. Apparently it is a brown headed cowbird.
