All Treasure Hunting
During my networking online I have get to know a local who owns some surface mines. Since they are in need I am trying to collect funds so they can start up their business that because of hard times got to a hault. The owner serve the locals and a workforce of 65 persons, they are dependent on the business to get a living since they do not have any alternatives.

I am trying to put togheter a consortium of likeminded trying to help. Togheter we can collect enough funds so they can start up work and get food on the table... the funds wil be used to selfhelp and thereby will make the community selfhelped. Also they are promising payback of the investment.

There is not any guarantees of success, but if we look at this as a venture and a treasure hunt the reward might outcompete the risk. Perhaps I also can convince the owner of sending us a small peace of gold nugget by post.

If you are in it for ideal reasons or to earn money, please send me a PM and we can talk it over.

Please this is a serious post, and are in no circumstances not any freaud or shemes involved. Only serious comments or PM's are welcome.

Best regards

Onar, though you may be legit, the person you've gotten to know via the Internet may be an unscrupulous con man (or woman). Lots of questions to ponder! For example, since he's informed you that he was employing 65 people before having hard times, why haven't friends, relatives, local business owners, local investors or other LOCALS WHO KNOW THEM ALL come through with investment money to help them get started up again? If the people who know this guy won't invest, his project, if it exists, probably isn't substantial enough to support any of the workers or their boss! BE WARY! I'd never get involved with anyone over the Internet who wanted money. Even if I had dough to spare, which I don't, lol.

Thats a good point.

Of course more investigations must be done.
There is many ways aid can be given, for example you can create an bank account in the area the business is. The contact person do not receive entire amount but receives notes they can use to buy equipment (not everything).

this is in Africa, and the mine is driven in corporation with local chief among other. The business may not be a registered company, but this can be changed. This contact person do not have money to reopen the mine that have been shut down because of previos war. Know the person that inherited the mine(s) after dead dad wants to reopen it.

Somehow, there will be opened a account with local bank and a procedure of how the person can receive the fundings and more.

I guess we would use our Paypal accounts to make a donation?

I know you are sarcastic...

But there is many ways "donation" can be done, wire to bank account, pay pal as you mentioned and more...

The thing is to create a network and crowdfund, when we are enough people we can all fund a minor amount.

best regards

Awe, you guys, I was trying to find out what part of Somalia the mine is located, and now he'll probably never tell us. And we could have pooled our paypal buy it now feature, provided enough money to build condominiums, and rented them to the tourists that would flock to Somilia in order to pan the dirt dug from the mine, and they get to keep all they find, including land mines, as long as they remove them from the premises.

This is not Somalia, I understand your skepsis. It's healthy. But as mentioned it is in Africa.

As I stated earlier, you can not use TreasureNet to raise funds this way, it violates our rules and TOS....
