Lock and Mailman's hat badge

It is obvious what they are, even to me! :icon_scratch: Can anyone tell me the age of them? On the lock in in a small rectangle is "made in USA". Beneath that "pat. 1214??o" In a circle above the rectangle is the number 60.
The backmark on the badge reads "N C Walter & Sons, New York"

All I can tell you is if that patent starts in 1,214,??? it would be 1917.

Re: Lock and Mailman's hat badge

Thanks for the help on the lock. I still can't find a time frame for the badge but I know it is modern. I guess it's time for a green check.
