Long hunt but few finds. CW relics and fastner? I.D. help.

Went out today to my trusty CW spot, but I think I've about picked it clean. I spent 5 hours out there today and only picked up a handful of relics. I found this fastner that's pictured below in the same area I was finding the cw bullets. Can anyone tell if it's period to the Civil War or what it may be to? Thanks for looking.

Not sure about the peroid but I have found similar looking peices on the cw sites down here in bville and guyandotte. Good looking find though.
