When I was younger I would have looked inside the holes with a flaslight and a heavy magnet on a rope to see if anthing interesting was in there.

I want a closer look at your canyons.
My friend you may have inadvertently stumbled onto a treasure trail.

even small treasure caches on a KGC trail are VERY valuable.
Post that two trunked tree in KGC and see what happens.
