Longshot what's it

We don't know what this is and thought one of you may know as you all are amazing at IDing stuff. It is 2 inches long and hollow. Slightly magnetic. It does not appear to be broken but made that way. We are thinking you part but no clue really. Thanks for your input!!

Lenrac2, can you give us a little more to go on, like where you found it (i.e. a farm, park, etc.), what was there years ago, and what if anything was found nearby? My first thought was a broken clock winder - as those come in so many shapes and sizes. But if your find isn't broken then...back to the drawing board.

Found at a park dating back to the 1890s. Previously farmland. The park had dance halls, theater, and had military exhibitions in about 1910 (we find a ton of blanks, bullets and shell casings). The park had civil war camps, gypsy camps, trolley line and amusements. Fishing lake and a pool too. And golf nearby. This park has been everything. And now just sad and decrepit.

Great idea but I don't think it appears to be broken anywhere. It looks made like this. I thought maybe a toy part. GCP's firing pin suggestion is looking promising as some look similar. Thanks! We appreciate the input!

Lenrac2, with these additional details - then part of a firing pin seems reasonable ID.

Looks like tin or pot metal. To my eye it isn't precise enough to be a gun part...

I do agree it may have been a spring guide.

And why hollow? To pass air or liquid? Maybe part of an old seltzer bottle nozzle?

Thanks DC and ticndig but the hole is so tiny that I can't see it used for those purposes. I could barely get a stripped twist tie wire through it. But I don't know why it's hollow or if firing parts are hollow.

How about from a perfume or household pump sprayer or a garden/insect sprayer?

Again, I'm just guessing. Sometimes we throw an idea on the forum and it triggers a memory or a different path of research for someone...

Being pot metal or tin, I doubt it is a gun part of any kind.

Maybe I found it finally. Trigger may be broke off. As well as the back end.
