Something that big could have been found with any type of detector. Heck, my wife could have found it with no metal detector at all! She seems to be drawn to gold and diamonds.

The only gold ring I found was with my first detector when I was barely out of high school.
And guess what, it was a gift, a Radio Shack metal detector. Many years & machines later ,
I still haven't found another one. I still have that old detector.
