Looking for advice

I'm hoping to get some time on the beaches in Florida this winter (east coast) and maybe a trip to the fabled Treasure coast. My question to the more experienced detectorists, Nokta Legend or Garrett Infinium Ls or Garrett AT max? Which one and why choose that machine? Thanks in advance for any help.

Had the LS and friends that run both the AT Max and Legend. So what part of the beach are you hunting? All, drysand, wet sand or the water?

I'm just getting started but I plan to hunt it all where i can.

Have you ever used any of those machines in wet salt sand before? Bear in mind that on the treasure coast you can only hunt from the foot of the dunes to the water's edge. Because of the slope of the beaches on the treasure coast they are not very deep even at low tide so you want a machine that can handle wet salt sand.

Nope. No salt water experience. I am aware of the restrictions on the treasure Coast. Thanks for the response.

I've been using the Legend on the Treasure coast for a long time with no problems in wet or dry, or even shallow water off the beach at places like Causeway Beach. I run it wide open, seldom use discrimination, all metal, Pitch sound setting, and leave it on wet sand (less noise). Sensitivity as high as is tolerable. No experience with the others. Best of luck. BTW, you should read up on the new Legend 2 as well.

Thanks for the input, I'll try your settings. I'm overstocked with machines right now so I don't dare get interested in a new one until I reduce my inventory. lol.

OG is typically used as an abbreviation for "Original Gangster". It's usually used as a sign of respect, for someone who has been doing whatever for a long time, and also for those guys who may have been the first to do whatever. For instance, my job in the military (1976-1980) has an AFSC, or Air Force Specialty Code. Every job in the military has its own code number.

But the Air Force changed the specialty codes for some reason, so the job I previously held has a new code. When I speak with younger Vets who are in my specialty, with the new specialty code, and I tell them I did the same job when I served, then give them my specialty code, many of them would reply and say "wow, you're an OG", lol.
