Looking for locations in northern CA

Hi, I'm new to the site and prospecting. I'm looking for a few areas in northern CA where I can take my family camping and do a little panning. I've done it once or twice and would like to do it more. Just looking to take my boy out and have a little fun. Any help would be appreciated. Thx

You might consider browsing Sub-Forums: California for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.

Placer County California offers a wide variety of prospecting. The Bear River (Colfax Ca) has easy acsess and camping also gold..Take your pick of any of the forks of the American River..
Auburn SRA

Pioneer Mining in Auburn is a good local prospecting shop and very knowledgable on the local Rec areas..Anyway some good gold some good camping and swimming in my neck of the woods...
