Looks like the wife is getting a new Carrot

The wife has been griping and whining for a while now about her old back Garrett pin pointer. It still works but can be rather challenging at times. So today we were hunting and I managed to watch her as she used the pin pointer, she was constantly checking to see if the thing was even on, very frustrating for sure. So as we were heading home, I told her that I had been considering buying her a Carrot for Christmas. No arguing about this! In fact she got really excited so I guess it will be a before Christmas present so that she can use while on Christmas break if possible. Besides, I won't have to hunt for mine anymore because she stole it again LOL. Up grades can be just that, up grades and this will be one for her. I wish everyone a happy Christmas this year and I hope that some of you get some cool toys or accessories for your machines/hobbies.

Call them and send it in, it will probably cost about $42 and it will come back just like a new one...

1. the title of this topic is a good attention getter.

2. how are the Garret pinpointers? I feel stupid asking, because I've borrowed a few, but on the long term, how good are the orange carrots compared to say, a Fisher F Pulse?

3. congrats to your wife! I know the struggles of having no pinpointer/one that doesn't work.

I've had mine for a pretty good while and love it. plus it stands out very well when dropped so it is easy to spot and find. I think it is a great upgrade, at least it was for me. The two black garrets are now back ups or loaners. I can't compare it to the others.

A black Pin Pointer 11 is a good pin pointer NO settings to change.. I loaned the Carrot and they seem to always come back to re adjust the settings

Your Wife will love her Christmas present. Out of all the pin pointers, the Garrett Carrot is my favorite one. Easy to use and easy to find.

Love my carrot but the holster is not so great. It falls out easily. Gary

actually have sent both black models in to Garrett to be repaired or reconditioned in the past. She wants the Carrot and it will be here soon enough. Frustration can kill a hobby for some pretty quickly so I want to make sure that my hunting partner is happy plus no more excuses LOL. I am just happy that she does so much and so many things with me.
