Mr. Wrightdigger took us fishing this weekend. We ended up in front of Lorain. He slowed down so I could get pics of one of (if not the) best lighthouses on Lake Erie. They celebrated it's 100th year in 2017. It is no longer a functioning lighthouse. They offer a sunset dinner tour which includes a boat ride out and back, a catered dinner, and a tour.

fav.webp This is my favorite. I didn't have to crop or rotate it. I wish I didn't cut off the flag pole, though.

poor house.webpI liked this house. Mr. WD called this the "Poor Side." Maybe I'll get a chance to photograph the "rich side."

For the history of the lighthouse you may visit this site:

Thanks for looking!

Maybe it will be on the way when I pass through lake erie. Ill look for it on the charts. It looks familiar, I might have seen it before. One of my favs on the east coast is wolf trap light.

Lorain is certainly the best "house with a light" on Lake Erie, but I believe Marblehead is the best lighthouse.

Tell us more about your coming excursion to Lake Erie. Like what next are you up to?

I have no light houses here :( Maybe I should put one up :)

Safe travels Blak bart, as I seen in your post in RCT that you are already on your journey taking a yacht up the east coast, then through the Hudson river and into the Great Lakes. I hope you are successful in finding treasures along the way!

B-b-b-but, I already posted Marblehead last year.

Marblehead Lighthouse

I am on a mission. Future threads: Toledo, Port Clinton, West Sister, Huron, Sandusky. Who knows how many I will get to see.

Dude! You already have beautiful mountains, rivers, lakes, and trains. Leave some subject matter for me to photograph. LOL! :laughing9:
