This was my very first attemt at painting acrylic on paper, probably is 140# or 300 gsm. Here is where the experimenting with gel mediums began for me. I made the acrylic become what they call "oily" meaning it gets an oil like drag when brushed on. Other people though it actually looked like an oil painting. Spent 2 weeks on the backside of Los Cerrillos metal detecting and taking photos to paint at home later.

On the one side going in it is quite sandy looking in the summer, was there the last 2 weeks of July and had a rare cactus bloom event.
