We adopted Katya in 2013 at 7 weeks of age. Over the last 2 weeks, she just seemed off, days prior to that she was running amok in the backyard as normal.

My wife took her to the Vet this morning, and the news was bad. X-rays showed her abdomen was a mass of cancer, her stomach couldn't be seen in the X-ray. There were no indications prior to this. Her labs during her dental work back in March came back normal.

My wife brought her home, so the kids and grandkids could say goodbye, with the intent of taking her back to the Vet afterwards. She didn't last long enough for that. She took her last breaths with my wife, and Charlie our Alaskan Malamute-Siberian Husky mix, and me by her side.

She was spastic as a puppy and never outgrew it. Mouthie to a fault (Like all Huskies), but a true Daddy's girl. We always fought over my spot in the bed. She would always park herself infront of me so I could scratch behind her ears, she passed with me scratching behind her ears. She'll be missed to put it mildly.

The second to the last picture was taken in March of this year, the one above it is her enjoying her first and only snow in Florida in January of this year.

My heart breaks for you and your family! I offer my deepest condolences to you all. I have had to put down to many of my furry family over the years. She was a beautiful dog.

My best solution for that situation--to reduce the level of sorry--was to acquire another pet ASAP; maybe two. I've had that experience myself, without kids, with kids and now grandkids. Acquiring another pet reduces the pain of the loss and creates a New Beginning.
