Well, I guess if you sell a lot something like this may happen. Ive been selling a lot lately. One of them was a lot of 4 zippo lighters that Ive relisted twice before but it finally sold. Ive been keeping everything Im selling or plan on selling together and today when I went to package the lighters, one is nowhere to be found. IVe torn this place apart and cant find it. The only thing I can think of is that it either accidentily got thrown away or maybe one of my kids friends may have slipped it in their pocket.

Ive got just over 500 feedback and its 100% positive. This is the first time something like this has happened. I let the buyer know and said Id either refund and cancel the transaction or issue a partial refund of what he thinks is fair and send the other three. But, apparently the lost one is what he wanted most because he said to just refund the whole thing. Hopefully he understands. I still hate that this happened.

When you are honest about it and up front most folks understand.

The first step I take is to blame everyone else in the house. Ask everyone, Where did you move this to?

Next, After I have blamed everyone else sufficiently; I like to blame them some more. This involves muttering to myself.

Then after 2 days I think of places I might have moved it to.

It usually turns up soon after.

This is just a process that works for me. You might want to try it.

You have his email, so if it turns up you can contact him and sell it directly without going through ebay. Save yourself a couple bucks and he'll be glad you remembered him.

Be very careful with that. eBay doesn't take too kindly to losing money and I have heard (2nd hand) of people being kicked off eBay and even sued. Also remember Paypal is owned by eBay and they have the technology to know you "poached" a customer/sale from them (for lack of a better word).

Did you ever find the lighter?

Dog ate it LOL
