Lost in Michigan?

Hey there,

We are just getting started into metal detecting as a family. My 11 yr old is dying to find something besides the old fields near our house, and I was hoping someone could help. We are going on a trip to Interlochen Michigan in a few days, and are having a hard time finding anywhere to metal detect. Anyone have any ideas near Sleeping Bear Dunes? I know that area was recently hit by bad storms, and am still hoping to find somewhere.

Any ideas would be great!

Go on the DNR's website an look at Metal Detecting state parks. Some are open, some are closed and the silly part is those that are open you may detect only in parking lots which are paved.
