Lost lake ?

I was told that this was a lost lake.. I know it's not all there . But give me your opinions

Could be a lost lake or a kirk or really any of the corner notched earlier archaic types from your area. I also like the Ft Payne material.

It is very hard to type those early archaic types for sure

Without the base it's really hard to say what type it is. I would say Kirk though from what I can see.

If the other side is beveled ? it's a Lost Lake, Decatur, or Plevna ( also called Dovetail), all part of the Kirk family. Made from sky blue Ft. Payne chert, hence the brown patina with the white lines. Yours is a typical clean break fracture, side to side, instead of an impact fracture. Producing a flute like scar. In my opinion, you have the mid-section of a old broken worn out knife. Late early to mid Archaic. South Middle Tennessee to North Middle Alabama for the chert source.

That would have been a nice one. We have several nice outcrops of fort payne here. Great material in my opinion.
