Went to a spot I've been looking at. You would think with all the drunk people getting their keys out of their pockets that a lot of change would fall out. but alas only junk and trash. The site of the old Boondocks Bar in Twin Lake is now just a empty spot along the road (with about 10,000 empty beer cans underground) Bottle caps, Gas cap, cans, and a jar lid with a porcilan seal

Boondocks, Chuggies, Fireside, and I do not remember the name before that.
That place held over 300 people and I seen it packed wall to wall many times.
I have heard it said it was a speak easy back in the Prohibition days, Lots of History in that place.
A friend of mine owned it when it was Chuggies, I spent WAY to many weekends there.
Just on the east side of the parking lot, next to the little dirt road there was a house that was tore down I would guess 30+ years ago.
You did not do very well this time but I don,t think I would give up on it to easy.
The big draw back is it is a Sand Pit.

Yes not giving up just yet. I found the pit that they dumped the building behind the lot and need to spend alot more time there. Will check out the corner where the house was. The lot is owned by the Blue Lake Arts Camp and they were more than happy to have someone clear out the junk for them. This may be a regular stop for awhile.

Happy hunting

2 days ago I dug up one of those lids with the porcelain in it out in my backyard!

Oh you just have to love them Zink Lids, they are almost as bad as pull tabs.

I doubt even an angry woman would deliberately toss out a ring :laughing7: But good luck with what potentially looks a good site.

Here is a picture for you.
Married Man setting at the bar with a young woman, not his Wife, his ring in his pocket.
A friend of his wife makes a phone call to her.
Now Guess who is going to be outside Waiting for him to leave.
The Wife did not show up to Welcome him home.
There are Rings there, the ones that she threw at him and the ones that fell out of his pocket when he pulled out his keys to go home.

Keep digging like that, that gold-n-diamonds are waiting!

It's tough and frustrating when there are alot of junk w/ the good finds. Sometimes you have to clear out some junk to get to it and you say you may work it all summer so dig every promising hole and ones your not sure of and run the pinpointer even after the item is removed where I have found a pot pie tin, dug a littler deeper as it went off again and found a pop can, pinpointer went off again, dug even deeper and out came a coin from the fifties. Good luck on your spot and Good Hunting.

Sounds like the spot could have some good finds, some spots give them up easy and others you have to work for the good fines, keep at it and Good Hunting...

Sounds like an interesting place to hunt further. Good luck!

Have you been back to this site this week?
You have some good water sites to hunt in you area, I think the AT Pro will do just fine for those also, Lots of History over there.
I know I will spend some time over there this summer.

Going today or Wednesday. That what I like about the AT Pro. Will go in up to 10 ft of water. Good for river forges I found on some old maps of this area. Logging camps and old roads and such.

Ok gang.....moving to Virginia in the spring. Boondocks was a bust except for a few coins here and there. Never got too deep into the woods behind the open lot. Have fun and stay safe.
