Lots of Buttons Posted Today, so I'll Add Mine! 1700's Flat Button with Design.

Found a pretty cool flat button today at a 1950's baseball field. It's probably from the 1700's, since it's paper thin and looks to be hand stamped. It's not even round!

It's about the size of a quarter and has a sunflower design on it. At least it looks like a sunflower to me.

Here's couple of pics:

Nice button. I've dug at least two dozen flat buttons from a colonial site. Nearly none have a design on them and certainly not as cool as yours

Old buttons are great! They have style & character. MANY different styles from different mystery characters. Hand made with human imperfections is best! Congrats

That's a nice one.
I found my first old flat buttons this year. I really like finding those things.

That's definitely a nice one. Congrats.

Thanks! I've dug quite a few as well, but this is only the fourth one I've found with a design on the front.

Awesome old button Tim. Once I finally dug my first, it seemed I would get one at least every other hunt, but I think I have only ever found one flat button with a design on the front. It was a crosshatch design. Nothing anywhere near as ornate or nice as yours.
