Had the day off so I decided to do some driving around to see if i could come up with some new sites.
Stopped off at a house that look like the kind of places i like to hunt.
Walking up to the door this woman comes out, so I ask if it would be ok to poke around with my metal detector? She tells me no problem.
She said her boyfriend always wanted to get a detector.
I told her if he wants i have a spare or 2, I come by someday and show him..lol.
Anyway the house was built in 1770, but the finds dont show it yet..
I was able to pull 8 silver, but nothing to old..
Maybe after the rain. Still have plenty to search. .
The 3 golden token I got yesterday, thats a total of 6 of these i pulled out from another property . Man these things look great for being from 1859.
Thanks for looking.
George.
Ps. Also found a 1924 dog tag. I like finding them.

That's a great haul, Vino! The 1902 Barber dime matches the oldest dime I've ever dug so maybe not "old" in your book.
The old insurance badge is kinda interesting as well.

'Grats to ya...thanx for sharin'...now go out and find some spanish silver.

Nice hunt George, but too bad those weren't colonial silvers .... lol. Those are nice buttons too. What's the backmark on the navy?

Thanks Bill.
I didn't want to make a pest of myself over the other permission
The back is missing from that Navy button so don't know the benchmark

There is a special place in my heart for old coins that are warped or got beat up by a lawn mower.... that Mercury dimes speaks to me, and says it deserves to be loved and cherished, after all its been through.

Killer hunt! Those tokens are really neat! Great job nabbing those silvers

Nice totals on the silvers and buttons, dog tags are a nice find also. The one Merc dime has seen some action being all twisted up.

I know they're not as old as you'd like buddy but that's a fun day of hunting. Give me a nice close up of the button and I'll see if I can't nail it down for you brother

My sentiments exactly Dave! It's my favorite of your finds today George. Actually those buttons are killer, too.

8 silver coins, although modern, is a fun day. Congrats Vino

It was a fun day..
Sometimes its nice pulling a coin out and not having to put it in oil to identify. .lol
He you go Abe.

Nice silver and buttons!! That 1914 barber dime has nice detail. Congrats!

Fantastic hunt, Congratulations! I agree with the others, that Mercury dime needed to be rescued.
