Louisiana Newbie finds 1st Silv & Civ same day

My wife bought me a Fisher F2 for Christmas. I've played with it around my and friends houses learning how to use it. Found lots of CLAD and 7 wheats but I finally got to go on a real hunt this past weekend. My brother came down from Monroe and we went to an old Plantation House in east central La. Found my first silver, a 1951 half dollar and my first civil war relic (I think). I believe it is a Confederate .557 Enfield bullet. If anybody knows differently, please let me know. Needless to say I'M HOOKED on this hobby. Anybody around the east central Louisiana area looking for someone to dig with, shoot me a message. I have several locations I've been researching.

Congrats to you. We have something in common. I found my first silver( not as nice as yours- was a Roosevelt dime ) and a .58 cal 3 ringer on the same hunt! I bet you'll remember the joy you felt on that hunt. Thanks for your post and I wish you much success.
