where in west central louisiana can i find opals?I know they were mined somewhere in west central louisiana in the early 1990 or so.thanks bildon

Approx. 15 miles east of Toledo Bend Dam
Opal, Pyrite

Other places to mine for things:

West of the town along Turkey Creek.
Qurtaz, Chalcedony

Iberia Parish, LA
Jefferson Island
9 miles South Southwest of New Iberia.
Anhydrite, Barite, Calcite, Dolomite, Goethite, Gypsum, Halite,
Hauerite, Hematite, Kaolinite, Marcasite, Pyrite, Quartz
