Hello all,

I dug this thin brass piece in a site which has given us relics from North and South. The item has the nest from the Louisiana state seal visible (along with the necks of a few Pelican young) below the plow break. Its about the size of a suspender buckle. Back is blank. Im including the CW button for those who don?t know what our state seal looks like. I know what the button is lol.

Is it possible that it could have looked like this originally?

it is possible that the nest could be a part of a geometric design but I can see two of the young hatchlings in the nest. Wish this item were more complete, we’d have more clues.

My old eyes can't see the hatchlings. :hello:
