Lower recovery speed

It’s been frustrating hunting on Cape Cod Bay beaches. With the Nox 800 and 15” coil and sensitivity 18-20 recovery speed 4. On some beaches in Brewster the low tide recedes to 2 miles out at low tide. Very few targets. Closer to the high tide line iron is everywhere nothing but pull tabs,bottle caps and gobs of melted aluminum or “space peanuts” as Merrill from Detecting NYC calls them. I have lowered the recovery speed to 3,2 and 1 trying to search the deepest the Nox can go to no avail. I have visited all the Bay beaches in Brewster and Dennis during high tide to see how far out most people go in the water to cool off then metal detect those areas at low tide. I find some coins down to 12 or more inches. It seems to me that most people I observe just walk to waist deep, dunk and then return to their beach chair and read their iPhone. So with such little physical activity in the water chances are slim to none that at least on the Bay beaches here in Cape COD it’s Slim Pickins. In the last 10 years I have only found 3 gold and 1 Tifanny Platinum 18 gram wedding band all with my Whites Dual Field which unfortunately is kaput. It doesn’t matter because I’m getting some good exercise doing something I enjoy at beaches that people come from all over to vacation. The only other thing I need is the Proswing-45 because my shoulder is complete junk

That's wild the tides go out that far. You have so great spots to hunt and there has to be a lot of old gold and silver there. If I'm finding silver coins most of the time I will find old gold. If Im finding pennies/wheaties rarely will gold be in that area.

Have you thought about the Manticore? I was impressed with its depth on the dry and wetsand. depth does fall off a lot once it hits saltwater for you have to adjust the settings down because of falsing.

Try using the 11" coil and run the recovery speed up to 6 and see what you find. That may help you get better separation in the dry or upper wet. I find it better in the water too under most conditions. Large wet sand areas as long as it's not just covered in junk, I still like the 15" coil.
