Makes you wonder how many "fake" coins people have that are really genuine. After all, a coin like that most people would disregard as a copy, few coin dealers really want to take the risk on a coin that most likely is worth 50 cents, especially if it isn't their specialty.

The flea market person maybe thought that coins were minted out of silver then, and that this is a counterfeit.

I agree, like the dealer that boast "I'll give you TEN times the face value" and offers 10 bucks for a Morgan silver dollar lol
