Well my little lucky streak seems to be over for now. I went to a small river beach and today was a really beautiful day. The water was like glass. But I just was not getting any hits at all. I hunted for about an hour and then decided to try up in the dry sand for a while. I didn't get a whole lot more up there but at least I was getting SOME hits. Mostly junk although I did end up with a little clad. The mosquitoes were eating me up. I had forgotten to put on some repellent. I took a trip back to the car and spritzed on some AVON skin-so-soft and went back to the beach. I decided to give the water another try. There had to be SOMETHING in there. I kept swinging and finally got a hit. A penny. The current was strong. The tide seemed to be coming in so going one way was easy but coming back was hard work. To tell the truth - even if I had gotten some good hits I probably would have had a hard time finding them because of trying to stay in place against the current. I did get another hit and it took me quite a while to finally snag it. It was another large hoop earring to add to my growing collection. All in all, beautiful day, lovely water included, it was a good day. My total for this morning was 69 cents, a hoop earring and some junk. I hope to read about some really good finds today from the rest of you.
