Been sick all week, maybe it's a sign I should have some hot soup. Prior to my short lunchtime hunt, NJLARGECENT predicted I'd find silver. He was right... silver plated Wm. Robers Spoon. Trying to figure out age based on the following info I found:

Based on the hallmark: "The mark Wm. Rogers surrounded by a star and eagle was used by William Rogers between 1825 to 1841 on his coin silver spoons. From 1878 to 1893, after the death of William Sr., it was used by Simpson, Hall, Miller and Company after they signed an agreement with Wm. Rogers Jr. This mark was used again off and on from the late 1800s until at least 1939 by the International Silver Co."

Anyone got thoughts/insight? I found this on the curb strip in front of my parents house which was built around 1880. My mom is going to look at the deed over the weekend to see if we can match up the monogram (S, L?).

I found a spoon once in the roots of a tree in my family's front yard, but mine wasn't silver. Congrats on the new silverware though!

Thanks. I'll certainly update this post if she can.
