Lyme's Disease - get yourself checked

Yep, if you're in the woods in Deer Tick areas get checked. Not sure? Try this canine map and Click the Lyme's link - yep, it's pretty hilarious using a dog map but it's actually the best measure out there of Lyme's presence.

Map of ticks and diseases ? dogs and ticks

I found out Wednesday I contracted it for the third time. It was early thanks goodness. I told my buddy and he says he may have it. I ain't stopping digging, tired or not, so plan on seeing a post of mine again soon;)

Last Saturday I went hunting with Loco Digger and EastCoastDigger. I was dragging ass and now I know why.

Anyway, here are few maps of the East Coast:

Stay safe out there. If you're not sure and feel fatigued, get tested. It's easy.

Good digs everyone

Great post and comments fellas. I was just diagnosed a few days ago. Doc has me on Doxycycline and he believes we caught it early and expects a full recovery. Also saw this and I'm considering combining, based on this study. Sounds very promising: Effectiveness of Samento and Banderol on Borrelia Burgdorferi (July 2010) Townsend Letter for Doctors & Patients

That's lame but at least you caught it early. I'm a fan of herbal medicines and I do believe they work in some instances, and can help in many more.

Best wishes to a fast recovery. Fatigue will be terrible one day, and other days you'll feel amazing, followed by terrible days. It's tough.

Good luck

I was in the hospital 4 days from a tick bite this month. I also was put on Doxycycline. Had a fever and severe abdominal pain and swollen spleen. I live in west Tennessee. I was sent to the VA hospital in Memphis Tn because my family Doctor couldn't figure out what was making so sick. When I arrived I met with a contagious disease Doctor who asked if I had been bite by a tick in the last couple of weeks and I told her that I had and I had told my family Doctor that but he thought it had something to do with my kidneys since my pee was almost the color of coffee and was actually treating me for a kidney infection. I have been out the hospital for three weeks lost 20 pounds and still can't do much because of weakness.

As if Lyme diease isn't enough, now theres another virus- powasson (sp?) carried by ticks that has no know cure. I think they said theres been 6 cases on Cape Code.

I get checked once or twice a year. I hope you get better buddy. It comes with the territory, bramble brother!

There is a virus caused by ticks called the Heartland Virus. Which I tested positive for according to the CDC .This happened 3 years ago but only got letter from CDC last year. So I called them and asked them what this ment. Like do I still have it could I infect someone else. Their response was we do not know and we do not know if any long term studies of the virus will be done or not. We will call you back in a couple of days. Well hmmm been a year now still no return call.I wonder about it at times as I get the run down feel like crap feeling at times. Then again might age catching up on me. Sorry for long post was looking for letter from CDC but its missed placed. Stay safe watch out for the heat and the ticks. HH

On the Doxy as we speak. I'll be a week in on Saturday. Extreme fatigue and achy joints for about a month for absolutely no reason. Well, except that I had a few tick bites..

Praying my 15 day cycle is long enough, and that if I had it for 30-45 days, that I can still get rid of it.
