O. E. MEANS
In 1887, the late O. L. Means started in the grocery business in Paris on
Clarksville Street. He had a partner in the business and the firm was known as Means
& Gooch Grocery, Today, in practically the same location, the business, under the
proprietorship of his son, O. E. Means, is observing its 52nd anniversary under the
name of O. E. Means Grocery and Market. O. E. Means became connected with his
father's business some 29 years ago when he started working in the store after
school and on Saturdays, later taking over the management of the business upon the
death of his father.
