For me, about the most beautiful bird is a Blue Jay. It also happens to be my arch nemesis!

I've seen one male cardinal. My wife and I were visiting family in east Tennessee for a few days, and I saw one there. Sure are pretty birds.

Back when I first met my wife, we had a male visit our little topiary tree at our condo, never saw a female.
I named him Stan Musial, for he too was a Cardinal
So a while later, my bride, not much of a sports history buff, mentions to me that Sam Usual has a girlfriend. Huh? Who?
To this day, when we see a cardinal..... "there goes Sam Usual"
