Magnet on an axe handle for hunting creeks?

Ive seen some videos of creek hunters where they use what looks like a magnet on an axe or pickaxe handle. Are these homemade or available for purchase? Thanks for any info..

Hi i do have the hogan i imported 2 from the US cost me a fortune but it is good the magnet can be useful but not in my case as there us far too much iron where i hunt

I bought a pretty strong magnet at home depot for a few dollars and just glued it to the top of my pick. if i lose it I have 3 more that came in the pack. they are pretty useful for even testing to see if jewelry is real gold or not.
