Went to another old park today in my local area.. Found a 38 wheat at about 7 inches. Waved my pinpointer in the hole and got another faint signal. Ended up being Being a Sweet old light about 4 inches further down that used to be used on Bicycles, Motor bike and carriages. Patent from 1896 on the bottom. Badger Brass co. Solar light!! In bad shape but still really neat. Has red and green lenses on either side as well as a magnified lens that used to go out the front

Also found a TreVere brass compact from it looks like the teens or 20's. Still has part of the mirror in it

Wow! That thing is really cool looking!
I would rig a battery in there and a little LED and use for it's intended purpose once again.

Great Recovery! ....Always pays to go over your dig again....Sweet!

I have one of those on my old bicycle project. I never would have guessed someone would have been able to dig up a complete light like that. Awesome find.

Thanks for the reply to my reply. I've dug several of these reflectors found at various sites here in Central FL. Never knew what the were until I found the Solar cap at an 1880's home site on the east coast and did some research on it. These Solar lights were very cool in how they worked. Also have a Chalmers auto light that I think worked on the same principle. HH and good luck. C9

Awesome carbide light!
