Well today after work I made a trip out to the local school to break in the new ace 250 and to try and get a feel for the controls and learn how this thing reacts. Here are the results.

Good one :icon_thumleft:, I started with an Ace 250 and you did better than I did on my first time out. But it did finally bag my first hammered silver with it. The 250 is a great machine, you will find tons more with it, good luck .

I made it back out tonight for a little while and experimented with different modes and managed to pull a couple dollars in clad. I seem to have the best signals in jewelry mode with low readings notched out. I did manage a couple dimes that had to be about 7 or 8 inches deep though.

Thats kind of a bold statement, I have had more expensive detectors and I have had cheaper ones too and I have always managed to find things with them all. I not new to this as you may think, Im not trying to keep up with anyones numbers. I do this for a hobby.

Good hunt, sometimes I think all we are paying for is the name.

As with all machines there are limitations. I have used my ace 250 for two years. It is limited in wet sand and at the ocean beaches and in the high Sierra Gold country. As most of my hunting is done in local parks and play grounds it works great. I have yet to find a real good reason to pay more for a more expensive machine to hunt these locations. As I expand my time in the harded to hunt areas I will get a machine that is more adaptable for those locations. Your assessment is correct this is a hobby not a contest. Thank you for sharing your finds. HHHH

The little yellow fellow, at least it pinpoints, and tells you dept, that's better than my GTA 400.
