Well saw this frame said to myself had to have it. Purchased off of ebay with all the guarantees in place. Well just got it and took a look at all the points. Every point except for the large Center one which is a reproduction have been poorly restored and painted to hide the restoration.............Good thing there is a return policy. The seller saw this frame and purchased them to resell on ebay thinking he could make a buck. If this frame was as described and all the points were intact with no damage this would have been a steal. Let's hope this seller honors his return policy. Keep your collection clean!!!! If I did not have a clue and i was a new collector, I would have thought all these points were real and whole as this seller did!! Remember all the tell tale traits if it is too good to be true it probably is, and if the pictures are the slightest bit off or a little darker be wary!!! I took a chance of this frame due to the return policy. If the pictures were clearer it may have been seen before the purchase!!!!.....................Hope this helps all new collectors. Before you buy learn!!!

That's too bad GTP. I'm glad you have some guarantees to work with and good luck getting a refund. Good post, there's a valuable lesson here. Gambling on ebay is like rolling the dice imo, sooner than later your luck will run out.

That big broadpoint centerpiece looks good from far, but far from good once you added the enlarged pic.

Good thing you've done your research and are knowledgeable about patina and deposits. Think how many people are getting burned due to ignorance. One of the main problems imo is collectors / sellers who don't cull the fakes and they end up being recycled into the market as authentic artifacts. Scary stuff.

Ryan, I am thinking of the other frame he had. Now there was noticeable piece's in that, that clearly had restoration and the reason I stayed away from it. He had a price tag on it for $499. They were all pristine points. I emailed him on it told him my concern and he told me that they were from different collections. I reviewed this frame but the pictures were dark and as you can see after the work i did on these photo's this was the best i could do. I figured with a return policy of 14 days I said what the heck and bought it. I don't believe a word this guy said as he did not leave me feedback on the frame. Even though payment was prompt. The other points i got which were authentic the seller gave me a positive feedback before i even got the points. Whoever toyed with these points actually added paint flecks to mimic Rhyolite and it's natural flecks on the large point........ pretty pathetic how people try and take advantage of the novice collector..................GTP(Chris)


PS. That other frame of pristine points when i went back to look at them they were already sold. All of them perfect so it did the job the seller wanted it to do which was sell for a high amount. There was a return policy on them as well so i know they are gonna get returned if the buyer knows what he is looking at and not the perfection of the frame. If they do keep it it will stay in that persons collection until they are sold once again........pathetic....
