I'd like to know how much he spent on slugs etc.
a friend found one while bank bag hunting.
I got to inspect it.
it looked and felt like a real nickel
 

Back then, a nickel bought a lot more than today. I remember reading a book in the 50's where they caught another nickel counterfeiter because his coins all felt very greasy.

Even when you could get a cigar for a nickel that was a humble choice.
 

I wonder if some of those nickels are still in the river.
