March totals

Did a lot of searching this past month. I took two roadtrips, made several coldcalls locally, and set a personal record for number of boxes searched in a month. In total I searched $25 in cents (1 box), $100 in nickels (1 box), $1000 in dimes (4 boxes), $1000 in quarters (1 bag from coin machine), and ~$12,100 in halves (17 boxes + ~$3600 from roadtrips/cold calls). Not a bad month at all. The take:

wheaties - 4
silver Rosies - 1
Walkers - 2
Bens - 2
1964 Kens - 14
40% Kens - 260
90% silver proofs - 1 (2002S Kennedy)

It was a heavy 40% kind of month, and thats just fine with me! :icon_thumleft:

I found 3 solid rolls of them...almost 4 as another roll contained 19.

Are dimes always so scarce for you, or was it just a few bad boxes?

Thats about my average. In fact, it may be a little better than average for me. At least 3 out of every 4 dime boxes I have tried have been skunks. I wouldn't even mess with them, but I have a dump bank with a coin counter that doesn't take halves. So once or twice a month I'll try some dimes, nickels, cents, or even quarters. This bank is only a couple of miles from one of my regular dump banks so its not much of an additional hassle to make an extra stop on dump day occasionally. I figure any silver I find doing this is just a "bonus", and it wouldn't be much of a loss if this dump bank cuts me off. Nothing to lose really.
