MarkG-in Pa.'s Incredible Finds with pics
Let me start out by saying that we all love this hobby and are simply thrilled with the chase and our normal finds. I have found stuff that dates back to the early 1700's and it comes out of the ground looking very modestly passable. And a lot of it looks like worn out washers,etc.. Yes its fun and cool and we cherish all our finds like we try to love everybody in our family the same. Yea Sure, right on that one! Uncle Billy's really a weisel and burps too much.
Well the point is: very seldom do we pull the stuff we really want to.You know the stuff with pizzzaz.razzamatazz,..........
Some get lucky, some are skilled, some spend lots of time on the hunt............Mark G in pa is all of the above. Who once was a rookie.
Alright alright johny mc.......cut to the chase!
Here's the deal.....back in the 1870's they built this resort/hotel up on the side of a small mountain where the water was a spring. It's called Leukawooki or something.....that's what I call it. It's been maintained without any of the buildings in a sort of modest park. Mark and I hit it last week once...I had tried it many years before. The first day we got an injun, and two wheaties....ba hum bug kiss my burger king buns..
So I call Mark and he's a pain in the butt cause he's looking for the primo spot, the holy grail, the old worn out spots stink, you know the
mode we all get into. My words exactly: this place was built in 1872 so you know what that means:
SEATEDS!
OK OK OK
We went this past Wednesday and after maybe 5 minutes he goes hayyo..............something like that.
See second pic- Seated dime
Then he got a v nickle. Then another seated dime. and lastly
This absolutely fantabulous Barber - the first year they were made and one year off the proverbial SEATED. The back is like a slick sheet of ice-- in the ground for over 100 years. He used a touch of baking soda and water.
aloha johny mc.
