The story is a little Wierd, bit to answer your question, I live in sac, CA, and its pretty hard to get away from railroad tracks here. They crisscross the mountains all over a couple of major roadways here.
. I went up hwy 50 to a spot called China flat that is a campground right on the south fork of American river. While walking along the river, I came across a rather large chunk of the rock face that fell out. The rock was triangular, about the size of a deep chest freezer. On the interior face, these symbols were carved(etched?). It tripped me out so much I wanted to post here and see if these symbols were common...

got it. seems like a marking for a chinese encampment near by. did you use a metal detector in the area or see any foundations or artifacts? the last symbol is...ping me and ill let you know, i will be near there this weekend.
