I may have got one off my bucket list today. I found a martingale heart of a Civil War period harness. Not sure if this is military, militia or civilian. The button is PA militia. I am not sure which one. All I can see are horses and the eagle. I am still soaking it. I finally got a 3 ringer. I was wondering why all the buttons and no mini balls? And this one is fired. And yet another mixed drop. Several clad coins and wheat cents. That is 3 in the past week. Slow but productive day.

Does the Martingale have a lead filled back? I have seen later, die stamped brass ones without the lead fill. I believe the Civil War era ones were lead filled.

Sweet martingale and button! I like the 1700s Shoe Buckle in the bottom photo too!

I see one nice Martingale and a twisted pocket watch, nice, vanzutphen
