Dug my first Mass Copper today. It was a new site and the first target I dug was the 1788 Mass Copper. I may try and soak it in Olive Oil or use some blue ribbon on it to get better detail and help preserve it, but not sure what I will do. I then dug what looks like a 1794-1795 Large Cent, then my best Colonial shoe buckle with a decorative pattern on it. I did not find anything else, which is very odd. Found the three artifacts right away, then all junk. I may return to the site tomorrow. Thanks for looking. :icon_thumleft:

Very Nice Shoe buckle, in great shape :icon_thumleft:

Thanks for all the nice remarks. I am wondering if I should soak the copper in Olive Oil for a couple of days to loosen up the hard dirt. :dontknow:

That copper is so sweet....great find :headbang:

nice colonial digs.olive oil don't work on coppers i dug. that's just my opinion.
