Massachusetts seal flat button

[Old Finger]

Found this button today in kingston MA. It was found on a site that dates from the mid 1700 to 1850 ish. I've never found a flat button like thos before so I was hoping someone knows more info about it thank you

Very interesting find. I can see the seal in the middle photo if I tilt my phone. Must be a militia button. Hopefully some of the button experts on this site can give some detail.

says here 1820's or 30's, two piece buttons with seal date from later.

General use Massachusetts state militia button, 1812-1830's. Albert number MS-19.



I found one years back with silver wash, but they don't seem to turn up very often. Very nice find!
