Well you know what they say about detecting and timing being important with the zinc cents in circulation you need to get them off the ground before they rot. I had a tip there there was some little league baseball tournaments about to occur so I found out from them when they expected them to be done and made a mental note to get out there. My next detecting outing was to check out the areas around the field and concession stand. Did fairly well around the concession stand some coins on top of the gravel and quarters on edge stuck into it. Think I had around 12 quarters found by then. Was finding an occasional coin. When it was time to head back to my truck and about halfway there my detector went mad with all sorts of signals. The grass was tall enough to not see the coins and also they were covered a bit with the grass trims this made it a little more difficult to recover the targets. Think my most coins found in a pile on top of each other was six, the spill was spread out over a ten by ten foot area is my estimate. MY coin totals for the day was 22 Quarters, 33 Dimes, 18 nickels, and 93 cents minus a few zincs i tossed immediately in my trashed section of pouch.
Heres the big pile !

Had one Memorial cent that really caught my eye because it seemed to have lots of luster and some interesting toning, maybe was part of some coin collection then tossed out ?

Well it looks a bit scratched up under the 10x loupe but looks very sharp to the naked eye, still worth keeping separate to me it seems !
And the Wheat Cent from the spill:

Oh and I also got what looked like a very big iron chain dog collar, don't have it photoed yet, the pro-pointer made me dig it while finding the spilled coins
Hope have some good hunts too !
