May 2013 Finds

May has been a strange month for us here, 2 feet of some to start, then a few days of sun, then a few days of rain, then a day or two of sun and wind and 3+ inches of rain over the past week. But I did (Steve & Russ also) manage to make it out a few times.

Thanks. If you mean the "X" bone piece, my best call on it, if it's anything other than a piece of bone with an X on it, is a game piece.

Thanks, the site we hunt is old. I've read excerpts from early French fur trade journals that refer to it as already abandoned and ransacked by the mid 1730's. Check out this link for more indepth information about a very similar Mandan village.

Really nice variety of artifacts there Kelly. I do love those game pieces. It was very nice to see and visit with you today and also to find those arrowheads too!
