maybe a Dalton drill ? ? ?

my friend was scratching around with a stick and found this one. I'm thinking maybe reworked Dalton? very flat though, not a three face drill. any input whould be greatly appreciated. thanks for looking. found in southeast Arkansas.

That is a great find! I'm no help on identifying it either but it's a beauty whatever it is!

It's has been changed so much you may never know what it was, but it could have been a Dalton, very good find

Flightline - It definitely could be, but if I was guessing (which I'm about to do) I'd say you're in the right time frame but it's more likely from an early side notch than from a Dalton. Great find regardless, and I think the age is about right either way. Perfect drills are always a cool find.

I would be willing to bet money that wasn't a Dalton. It appears to be a side-notched archaic knife (made of heat-altered material) that was completely whittled down.
