Today my metal detector kit was delivered. I had batteries ready and some garden tools ready to go, with kylee glued to my every move in anticipation of going treasure hunting for real. I tore up the box, got it all put together and everything then cracked open the user manual. Hmm, this was complicated at first, i will admit. Tuning it in to discriminate certain things, setting notches and notch out, sensitivity etc, ya i was a bit overwhelmed to say the least and just wanted to get and go.
So me armed with a brand spanking new bounty hunter sharpshooter II and kylee a BH pinpointer, we were on our way to the parks nature trail. nevermind it was 2pm in texas in the beginning of july(bad idea btw lol). I just set sensitivity to high and no discrimination so we can get our first finds and boy was the first sweet.
1944 P wartime Nickel, i guess this counts as a silver?? Came out nice after a bit of lemon soaking

Im have to figure this bugger out in settings btw, we dug up enough foil and aluminum to start up a scrapping business it seemed like, in hard baked texas soil with garden variety tools no less. I bought a pick axe digger from home depot shortly after we left, my learning curve was swift in this heat lol. It works much better to say the least in the yard later trying to tune this thing.
Anywho this is the total of our find in our short test run, but i think i got a keeper machine and cant wait to get out again in the morn before it catches fire out here. A bullet, rail road spike, piece of fishing reel and some old pennies, no wheats though that i could tell.
