just out of curiosity is it possible to boost the performance of a cheaper MD? i know changing coils makes a difference but is there anything in the control unit that can be done? im just curious. so far my BHQS is doing fine im really enjoying it but its like having a new to me classic car...eventually im gonna wanna put some bolt on ponies under the hood 8-)

Think about it, if the manufacture could make it better, faster, stronger with a simple add-on, don't you think they would have done it before they sold it? Just like all the crap the squires buy and bolt on to the car mom and dad gave them.. "CHECK IT OUT I GOT ONE OF THESE $96 AIR FILTERS! MAN THE CAR IS REALLY FAST NOW!"
So NO, the best thing to do is save your money and all your clad for an upgrade when you can afford it.

If you really want to hop up a classic, you have to have a classic. Pick up a used Whites XLT and the tuning world is yours. It is made to be custom tuned. Almost every circuit in the detector can be custom tuned. There are books on tuning them. Enjoy! Frank...
The settings are free as a bird to adjust.

…Frankn.. I see you use the XLt a lot and there are many that still use the XLT .. I think that Sandman uses the XLT often …And i see so many of the experienced ones that detect use that XLT..So it must be a good detector..
