MDing in the Virgin Islands?

I am going on vacation to St. Thomas next month and was wondering if anyone knows if its legal to MD on the beaches there (not counting the national park beaches on St. Johns, of course). Thank you...

I don't know if it's legal or not, but I sure thought about it when I was at Megan's Beach in the US Virgin Islands last month. What a beautiful place!

Beaches? What about the old plantations on St. Johns and St. Thomas where the natives revolted and killed off the rich folk?
That sure seems like it would be a great place to detect. When I was there a long time ago there didn't seem to be many rules or laws about what you could take away with you.

Trunk Bay would be pretty awsome too!
