Well fun was had by all. Stoney had the hardest find. He was so desperate to find something that he took a horse shoe right off a horse. Sorry no picture just his word on it.
Stoney found this curry brush in what was probably the corral area.

I found two shells the one small one is stamped US on the end. The other finds are a single strand barbwire and square nails.

Stoney thinks the dugout was used as a line shack. I agree with him. We found lots of large can good cans. Not what we hoped for but it was fun exploring and detecting. Thanks for looking.

Burdie,

Any day that you get to detect is good. You found something, that beats the alternative.

Nice relics from the dugout.I'm sure there's more where that came from.Keep up the good work and good times. HH!

Hey, meager beats getting skunked. HH

Large supply of canned goods??? From what era? Some of those old tins are worth bucks! I think you have found a great spot, a site that many of us will never even come close to exploring. You have some good history there and even if its a line shack...its still really cool to step back in time like that. And if it is a line shack ,there could be a ammo stash there....dont give up! :)

Burdie, I enjoyed myself even if the winds came sweeping down the plains hard enough to blow my hat off while the headphones were on. ;D

Burdie, keep looking you never know if you don't go! Good luck! Tsgman

Any find is a good find.......I get excited about those types of finds......It proves there were people there...... and where there were people there is a good chance to find $$$$ ;D ...it's also an indicator that no one else has worked the site 8) ........you may have to clear it out a bit before you hit something truly fantastic, but my guess is that you will get some really exciting thing from your site......keep em coming...

Well well well......we all know what the penalty is for stealing a horse.....what is the penalty for just the shoe? :D

Sounds like you two are having a great time!

Congrats on those finds!

Nana ;)

Just going out to metal detect in the woods is an adventure, keep searching, you might get lucky...Old places sometimes give nice surprises....
