Measles - did you have it?

We had the shots, all eight of us kids in my family, back in the 50's and 60's. Then I got shots in the Navy.
Only one got Appendicitis..
 
I am more inclined to think that by giving so many vaccines and preventing common childhood illness has weakened today's young adults and kids. Not fighting these diseases naturally, your body is most likely not making the same antibodies the way our generation did resulting in the higher risk/mortality rate in these same diseases today. Maybe leading to susceptibility to more pandemics?

You're right, to a degree. Every time I go to Walgreen's to get my prescriptions, they badger me about getting a flu shot. I always say no thanks. I've had the flu once in 25 years, so I'm not too worried about it. And I swear that every time my mother got her flu shot, she got the flu that winter! What was the point of getting the shot?
