This is yesterday's finds. In the group of medieval metal work, is a hammer head type knife handle. You can certainly see, why they're called hammer head type. Also in the group is a belt fitting, and a very nice gold gilded mount, in the shape of a fleur. The broken hammered silver coin, is probably a penny of Edward I. The nice half penny, as yet I don't have an id for. The hammered coins, are stacking up now, a lot as yet with no id. Robert.

Hi Robert ,

Wonderful Relics indeed ~~~~~~~~~ hammer is a peculiar shape , interesting ancient design ...

It looks like a claw hammer. I think they were originally meant to be an animals heads to be honest.

It really does look like a claw hammer , with a non functional claw :laughing7:
My guess is the proven design is still years away in the future . Still
great to see an example that old . Truly an
amazing woodworkers tool .... CMD

These are 16th C, pretty sure they are copying similar hammers of the time. I Like these, many were imported from Holland.

ROB GOT SOME NICE ONES THERE .

Fantastic finds, and nice condition! Congrats. -Lisa & John
