It has not rained in 27 days here, and the ground is like concrete... however, that has not stopped me from trying to find some treasure. The below finds are from a couple of hunts, as I just have not been finding very much. I was rewarded with '43 Merc last night, and a few Wheaties. I have also managed to find a couple of busted up Tootsies, junk jewelry, dog tag and bullets. I also found a small pin that says: Doers Of The Word... probably has something to do with a cult.

Thanks for looking and good luck on your hunts!

Good finds Tom. Watch out for Cult lightening though.

cool finds tom!, mercs are always a welcome site, and I like finding tootsies, shows the site has a bit of age to it, when in concrete......get a jackhammer!!lol

Wondering what the long metal piece is....I have found them before and don't know what they are....?

I put it in there in hopes that someone would ID it. My guess is musical instrument reed... but I can't seem to confirm that.

I go so long sometimes without anything wheaties get me excited. Nice merc and I like finding older "junk" jewelry, it was made way better and with more character and craftsmanship than today's garbage.

Yep popular 19th century instrument, air pumped keyboard / organ. First clue you are in a good spot where people gathered should be a very good site ! Nice Mercury saves there Tom ! :occasion14:

Thanks for the ID CRM! I "thought" that was a reed, but I am often wrong when I get to thinking!

** here is a pic from the internet.

Yeah reeds are used in several different forms in different musical instruments. It is a reed :coffee2:

Cool digs Tom. Hope you get a little rain soon to make your digging easier.

Good ID. I had not a clue. It's been very slow here too. Seems no one is ever home to give permission, lol. Some places here are powder dry...others are pretty wet. You never know which you'll get. Good luck this weekend.

Nice.....I like finding them both!!
